怎样区分英语中where引导的定语从句和状语从句，攻克英语盲点

首先，我们来看看以下两个句子：
1.Many patients with fever in Wuhan have been sent to the mobile cabin hospital where they can receive treatment in centralized isolation.在武汉许多发热病人已经被送到方舱医院，在那里他们能够得到集中隔离治疗。
2.A lot of doctors and nurses were not afraid to go where novel coronavirus could be transmitted by person-to-person.许多的医护人员不害怕去那些新冠病毒能够人传人的地方。
以上两句中，我们看到都是由where引导的从句，那么它们分别是什么从句呢？首先我们来分析一下两种从句的区别，再一一判断：
where引导定语从句where是关系副词,在从句中作地点状语,其前面有表示地点的先行词,where引导的从句修饰先行词.
如:I never forget the schoolwhere I studied ten years ago.我绝对不会忘记十年前我就读的学校。
where引导状语从句where是从属连词,where引导的从句修饰主句的谓语动词,where前面没有表示地点的先行词.
如:1）.You can go where you want to go . 你可以去你想去的地方。
2）.I found my bookswhere I had left them.我在我原来放书的地方发现了我的书。（my books不是先行词）
总结：
1.结构不同。where 引导定语从句，前面必须有先行词；引导状语从句，前面没有表示地点的先行词；
2.修饰作用不同。where 引导定语从句是修饰先行词；引导状语从句用来修饰谓语动词。
3.应用范围不同。where引导的定语从句，常可以替换成“介词+关系代词”，而where引导的状语从句则不可以；
4.where引导的地点状语从句兼有抽象条件含义，可以放在主语之前表条件，而where引导定从则没有。
如:Where there is water,there is life.有水的地方就有生命.
再比如：在奥巴马就职演说中有这样一段话：
The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works, whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end.
今天,我们的问题不在于政府的大小,而在于政府能否起作用、能否帮助每个家庭找到薪水合适的工作、能否提供他们可以负担得起的医疗保障并让他们体面地退休。哪个方案能给予肯定的答案,我们就推进哪个方案。哪个方案给予的答案是否定的,我们就选择终止。
