在新概念英语第4册第47课里有一句：
　　Granted, a snobbery11 of camping itself, based upon equipment and techniques, already exists; but it is of a kind that, if he meets it, he can readily understand and deal with.（诚然，露营地本身也存在以露营装备和方式取人的势利现象，但如果有这种情况，露营者也容易理解，知道如何对付。） it is of a kind that这个句子用词简单，但是意味不同寻常。 of a kind的意义词典下的定义是：used to say that something is not as good as it should be（用于表达某事并没有应该那个样子）。结合课文。前一句讲有炫耀露营装备和方式现象，针对这一现象，作者用Granted加以评论，承认这一现象存在，但是并不改变作者的另外一个观点，就是露营者不在乎，没有等级，于是用it is of a kind  that与Granted相呼应，of a kind 表达了：虽然有炫耀露营装备和方式现象，应该有一般势力那样，互相攀比，等级森严，但是没有，有的是 he can readily understand and deal with露营者也容易理解，知道如何对付。用英语解释大意就是：
　　he should pay attention to those who show off  equipment and techniques,but in fact they do not care.
