unit 3 what are you doing for vacation?(period one word)
一、teaching aims:
1. read the words and expressions correctly.
2. remember the words and expressions.
二: teaching steps
1. ask is to read the words and expressions by themselves.
2. ask is to read them out in groups.
3. check two to three is to read and correct the mistakes.
4. is listen to the tape and repeat 3 times.
5. get is to read aloud by themselves. teacher walks around the classroom an helps is.
6. classify the words:
(1). verbs:
baby sit →baby sitting camp bike→ biking
send ride→ riding  rent  leave →leaving
forget →forgetting finish. plan →planning
(2). 名词:
①国家及地名
greece spain spanish thailand  italy  italian  hong kong.
san francisco haw all  europe  the great lake
(2)普通名词
postcard bike sightseeing fishing, lake countryside nature tourist
(3)其它

7. ask is read them words and expressions correctly then try to remember them.

section a
一、teaching aims:
can talk about future plans
1. lead in:
i’m going shipping this sunday. and i’m playing basketball with my son. what are you doing this sunday? ask students: let them pay attention to be+doing 结构
let is answer the questions. then ask and answer in pairs.
2. look at 1a. say out the vacation activities in the picture. then ask in pairs. what are they doing for vacation.
3. listen to the conversations and number the pictures [1—3]
4. make conversations about the pictures. we can add some more artistries.
use  what’s he /she/doing for vacation?
     are they/you
(1) ask and answer in pain.
(2)ask is to say out his /her vacation plan (use be +doing)
5. (1) listen 2a what are hector, susan and molly doing for vacation fill in the chart under “what”
(2).listen again do 2b fill in the chart under “when”
6. group work:
if tomorrow is weekend ask students to make a vacation plan.

    8.ask one of the group members to stand up and state the vacation plan of one of the students in their group
    9. after they say out the vacation plans. let them discuss whose plan is the best / the most boring /the most exciting.
    10. after that germ 3a fint read the dialogue say out long and lin hails vacation plans in their own words.
    then read the dialogue again and again.
    (1) read the dialogue in pair.
    (2)recite it in pair.
    (3)finish the chart.
    11. 3b pair work:
    make new conversations using the information below. ask and answer in pall.
    12. vacation dreams
    design your vacation plan well and exchange it in your group. choose the best planner in your group.

    3. free talk:
    ss talk about what’re they doing tomorrow/ the day after tomorrow/ next sunday?
    4. listen to the tape of 2a, then give ss minutes to read the six sentences.
    5. listen to the tape again and write out the answers (cheek and correct)
    6. 5′ss read the text and fill in the blanks. then each group finds out the knowledge points.
    7. ss try to translate the sentences:
    (1) he thought about going to greece or spain, but decide on canada.
    (2) this time i want to do sth different.
    (3) he’s leaving the first week in june and staying until september.
    (4) i’m planning to spend time in the beautiful countryside.

       the summer vacation is over. during the vacation, the weather was hot, but i enjoyed it very much.
       as it was hot in the afternoon, i did my work in the morning. i usually got up at 6:30 and took exercise for half an hour. after breakfast, i began reading english and chinese and did some exercises in math. those took me three hours or more. i worked quite hard and improved a lot.
       i spent the afternoon outside. i went swimming and it was funny. i did not go home until five or six o’clock. sometimes my friends came to see me and we spent hours listening to music.
