allude 和 elude 的用法区别再一次告诉我们，若两个单词没有共同的词根，仅是拼写很接近，基本上意思都是差很多的，例如：compliment 和 comlement，discreet 和 discrete 等等。

一、allude 作动词，意为“间接提到；暗指；影射”，例如：
He alluded to problems with the new computers.他暗指了新电脑的问题。
The judge did not mention his previous crimes specifically, but he alluded to them in his summary.法官没有具体提到他以前的罪行，但他在摘要中提到了这些罪行。
She also alluded to her rival's past marital troubles.她还影射了对手过去的婚姻问题。
二、elude 作动词

1、意为“避开，逃避，躲避”，例如：
They eluded the police by fleeing.他们逃离警察。
The two men managed to elude the police for six weeks.这两个男人想方设法逃避警方追捕达六个星期。
The bear that had eluded capture for so long was caught at last.躲过了那么久的那只熊终于被抓住了。
2、意为“使达不到，使不记得，使不理解”，例如：

The gold medal continues to elude her.她仍然得不到金牌。

They had minor breakthroughs but real success eluded them.他们有一些小的突破，但没有真正的成功。
I know who you mean but her name eludes me.我知道你的意思，但我记不起她的名字。
